Yes, literally here in my hands. I have been waiting to get my copy of this book that was made available on Amazon in the 3rd week of October 2010.

Back in December 2009, I was in Bangalore for the SharePoint 2010 Ignite Training and by chance happened to see Michael Noel’s tweet inviting contributing writers to author a chapter or two for the book! I emailed Michael and rest is history!  Combining my “holidays” with SharePoint 2010 goodness – what more could I ask for!

Fast Forward

Last night when I got home, my lovely wife who had a very long day herself, showed me the books (x4) that she kindly picked up from the post box. Mind you the book is not small, its massive 900+ pages, so you can imagine what it must have been for her to carry 4 numbers of that!

I was elated to see the books and sat down with the family to share the joys of seeing the family name in black and white and also show them what’s all this “SharePoint” that I am always into! Smile [ Not that they needed to see -  they see and hear a lot anyways, but my family was specifically interested in seeing the Backup and Restore chapter]

For the record, my son has drawn a picture of me and the text underneath the drawing is “Just SharePoint – Only SharePoint” Open-mouthed smile

Love the way my family supports me in my SharePoint adventures and I attribute my success today to my wife and my son. Thank you, for if it had not been for their support and patience, my passion for SharePoint would not have made any headway… and I would not have been able to give back to the community – Blogging, MSDN Forums, Speaking… the works!

Thank you Michael Noel, it’s been an amazing experience to have made this contribution.

How to get the book

In case you missed my earlier post, I wrote a chapter on Backup and Restore in SharePoint 2010.

If you have not ordered your copy of this book then you can

  1. Order Microsoft SharePoint 2010 Unleashed on Amazon
  2. Pickup from your local bookstore
  3. Sign up for the newsletter – going to raffle a copy for next couple of months…
